I purchased this computer in December , after the root certificate problem which prompted Microsoft to issue other root certificate updates. I found and downloaded them and Microsoft said they were not appropriate for my system when I tried to install them.

I tried installing kB for XP sp3 and that didn't give an indication of it's being installed or not - but it did not show up in the "view installed updates" area, or in the event viewer.
