Autocad 2009 hatch problems
Assign Windows high performance graphics settings to the application. Test for network speed by moving the file locally. If the delay occurs only on specific drawings Repair the file.
Replace or block hatch areas that have been exploded. Check for large coordinates in the drawing. See: Errors or performance issues when working with objects in large coordinate space. Freeze or turn off any Xrefs that overlap the area to be hatched. Freeze or turn off any complex geometry, such as furniture or complex blocks. If the Xref or complex geometry forms a necessary boundary for the hatch, trace a closed polyline around the perimeter and place the boundary on a no-plot layer, before freezing.
General suggestions Use a boundary set. Click the pull-down on the Boundaries panel of the Hatch Creation ribbon tab. I am so confused u would not believe. Yes, I'll take a look at it. I'm on one of my two "forced" days off. It's either look at your drawing or do housework. I was going to email you but I see you have it blocked and I can't PM you. And I am not about to post my email in a public forum. So, PM me and I'll give you my email address.
Do it quick Must have 10 posts chat doesn't count. Respond to this and you'll be halfway there! This is going to be fun. Draw a line vertically down the area you are trying to hatch. Make sure the line extends past the hatch border. If you are clicking on 2 perpendicular lines then the hatch command has nowhere to hatch.
You need to click inside a closed region, hatch will then fill in the area with your selected hatch. You can post now and register later. What type of hatch pattern are you using? Some patterns can cause problems, especially if you have the scale set to create a very dense pattern. If you're not already doing so, try using the solid color hatch.
Thanks for the help everyone. I had a very dense line pattern on my hatch to form a solid. I changed that to a solid pattern and the problem went away instantly. I'm fairly new to autoCAD and was told to use the dense line pattern to make solids, but the solid pattern is clearly the better way to go.
Thanks again for the help. I'll definately come back to this website for any other questions that I might have.
